Wendy Baker, MW, LICSW

I have been providing therapeutic services to young children, teens, families and adults for over 35 years. I have specialized in working with children with high needs and their families, as well as adult survivors of complex trauma. In my years of practice I have developed a deep understanding of the need for us to feel held and accompanied as we work through our pain. The work of healing trauma and developmental injuries is a collaboration between therapist and client. One that I feel honored to be a part of as we develop a trusting, supportive connection.

My areas of specialization include pre and post adoption work in which I have taught professionals throughout the state on best practices in this area (I have taught Minnesota’s Post Adoption Clinical Competency -PACC for 11 years, a collaboration between U of Mn and DHS). I use an attachment lens in my work, with specialized training in Theraplay, Art Therapy, Play Therapy and parent-child therapy.

From early on in my work I have enjoyed attachment work with biological, foster & adoptive famiIies providing guidance and family therapies, especially for those children transitioning from out of home placements. I also work with individuals and families that have experienced a broad range of traumas (single incident as well as complex developmental traumas). I have specialized training in EMDR (with children & adults), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Sand Tray. I have held a variety of parent & professional workshops and trainings throughout the State in these areas. I would love to talk with you about your healing needs.
