Mike Poindexter, LMFT
Mike Poindexter, LMFT, has spent over 15 years serving families, adults, teens and children who are challenged by difficult life transitions, mental health issues, and serious emotional disturbances. Mike utilizes a collaborative strengths-based approach to help clients explore, understand, and move beyond the issues that impact them. He works together with his clients to bring a healthy balance to their lives.
Mike offers supervision to therapists working toward their LMFT licensure. He is a state board approved Clinical Supervisor in Marriage and Family Therapy.
In addition to working with clients at Family Circle Counseling, Mike is the Senior Program Manager for the Children and Family Services Division of People Incorporated where he oversees the operations of multiple programs providing services to youth and families throughout the metro area. He previously managed the Family and Children’s Therapy program at a domestic violence advocacy center.
Specialty Areas: Mike works with clients of all ages, however he has a special interest in working with adolescents and young adult men. He has significant experience working with victims of abuse, children and adolescents, Family Therapy, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, ADHD, and youth who are exhibiting Aggressive/Violent behaviors, or problems with Truancy.
