Jaime Gjerdingen (jer-di-gen)
(she/they)
Therapist, MSW, LGSW
Having gained over 15 years of experience working with children, teens and adults in restorative justice and mental healthcare settings, I have become passionate about facilitating spaces where people can heal and strengthen their connection to themselves, their communities and Nature.
I practice from an attachment, somatic, and trauma integration perspective without judgement, understanding that family histories and individual experiences weave together and show up in how we interact with others and the larger world.
I am experienced in contemplative practices, religious trauma, spiritual exploration, attachment and somatic regulation, trauma healing, Hakomi, and using craft making, storytelling, and music as well-being, individual/communal support practices. I am certified in DC 0-5; The Art & Science of Youth Work and am currently working towards full certification in TIST, TF-CBT, and SMART Moves play therapy.
Through being married for 30+ years with 3 adult children and 2 cats, I have gained an experiential perspective of the power and possibilities available when approaching relationships from an attachment, trauma-informed, somatic understanding within a family and wider community. I enjoy biking, hiking, knitting, visible mending, embroidery, reading and foraging.
